Target Details Screen

Learn how to use the Target Details screen to monitor progress and view your processing history.

Updated over 2 months ago

The Target Details screen provides a comprehensive view of your processing journey for a specific target. This article explains how to access and interpret the information on this screen to track your progress over time.

Accessing the Target Details Screen

To view details for a specific target:

  1. Navigate to the Journey tab in the bottom navigation

  2. Tap on the target you want to view

  3. The Target Details screen will open, displaying all information about your selected target

Understanding the Target Details Layout

The Target Details screen is organized into several sections:

Target Summary

At the top of the screen, you'll see:

  • Target Name: The identifier you created for this target

  • Creation Date: When you first created this target

  • Current Distress Level: Your most recently recorded distress rating

  • Initial Distress Level: The distress rating when you first created the target

Distress Chart

The visual graph shows how your distress levels have changed over time:

  • The y-axis represents distress levels (0-10)

  • The x-axis shows dates/sessions

  • Data points represent distress ratings from each session

  • Trend line shows the overall direction of your progress

How to interpret the chart:

  • Downward trend: Indicates progress as distress decreases

  • Plateau: Common during processing—sometimes levels stabilize before decreasing further

  • Temporary increases: Normal part of processing—distress may occasionally increase before decreasing

Tip: Tap on any data point to see the exact distress rating and date for that session.

Target Components

This section displays the detailed information you entered when creating the target:

  • Associated Memories: Specific events connected to this target

  • Current Triggers: Situations that activate distress related to this target

  • Negative Beliefs: Unhelpful beliefs about yourself, with believability rating

  • Positive Beliefs: Preferred beliefs about yourself, with believability rating

  • Emotional Responses: Feelings that arise when thinking about this target

  • Physical Sensations: How this target manifests in your body

Session History

This section lists all processing sessions you've completed for this target:

  • Date and time of each session

  • Duration of each session

  • Pre-session distress level

  • Post-session distress level

  • Insights & observations you recorded after each session

Tap on any session to view its complete details, including the specific settings you used (movement pattern, speed, etc.).

Using Target Details Effectively

Tracking Progress

The Target Details screen helps you track progress in several ways:

  • Distress reduction: Compare your current distress level to your initial rating

  • Belief changes: Notice if negative beliefs feel less true and positive beliefs more true

  • Trigger sensitivity: Note if situations that once triggered you now feel more manageable

  • Pattern recognition: Identify which session settings or approaches work best for you

Target Completion

How do you know when you've completed processing a target?

  • Distress level has decreased significantly (typically to 0-2)

  • Negative beliefs no longer feel true (typically 1-2 on the 1-7 scale)

  • Positive beliefs feel mostly true (typically 5-7 on the 1-7 scale)

  • You can think about the target without significant emotional distress

  • Triggers no longer activate intense reactions

When you feel a target is complete:

  1. You can mark it as Completed using the options menu

  2. The target will move to your "Completed Targets" section

  3. You can still access it for reference or additional processing if needed

Troubleshooting

If you don't see expected information on the Target Details screen:

  • Ensure you've completed at least one processing session for this target

  • Check that you saved your post-session ratings and insights

  • Verify that your app is updated to the latest version

  • Try refreshing the screen by pulling down on the screen

Remember that healing is rarely linear. Fluctuations in distress levels are a normal part of the processing journey. The overall trend over time is more important than any individual session result.
